The Faculty of Political Sciences at Sakarya University invites applications for the following positions:
Professor
Salary range 13,000-25,000 TL gross per month
Required qualifications: the applicant must hold a PhD in political science or closely related field. The applicant must have held or currently be holding a position as professor at a university. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required.
Desired qualifications: experience working abroad in a multilingual environment.
Job description: Teach courses in English at least six hours per week. Prepare, assign, and grade assessments as appropriate for course teaching assignment. Maintain student grade records and provide timely feedback on course performance. Hold office hours to assist students. Other duties will be discussed during the interview process.
Assistant Professor
Salary range 10,000-15,000 TL gross per month
Required qualifications: the applicant must hold a PhD in political science or closely related field. The applicant must have three years of work experience as a lecturer or similar position at a university. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required.
Desired qualifications: experience working abroad in a multilingual environment.
Job description: Teach courses in English at least ten hours per week. Prepare, assign, and grade assessments as appropriate for course teaching assignment. Maintain student grade records and provide timely feedback on course performance. Hold office hours to assist students. Other duties will be discussed during the interview process.
Lecturer and Teaching Assistant
Salary range 7,000-10,000 TL gross per month
Required qualifications: the applicant must hold a master’s degree in political science or closely related field. The applicant must have one year of work experience as a teacher. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required.
Desired qualifications: experience working abroad in a multilingual environment.
Job description: Teach courses in English at least twelve hours per week. Prepare, assign, and grade assessments as appropriate for course teaching assignment. Maintain student grade records and provide timely feedback on course performance. Hold office hours to assist students. Other duties will be discussed during the interview process.
General information
Applicants must not hold Turkish citizenship. Interviews will be conducted in English via Skype. The contract is for one year with the option to renew pending satisfactory performance and available resources. Travel expenses of successful applicants and their spouse from country of residence to Sakarya will be reimbursed at the start of the contract and to return to country of residence upon completion of the contract. A notarized Turkish translation of official transcripts or diplomas will be required for successful applicants.
